Hi there,
I wonder if anybody travelled by boat on Lena river? Maybe there is any regular tours with "local" prices, like the passenger vessel in Yenisey "Krasnojarsk - Dudinka"? I am interested in visiting the Lena region, to mover even more further east than Yenisey that I visited last summer. Maybe somebody knows anything interesting about that region worth travelling... What about Yakutsk? I heard it is the capital of COLD of Siberia, no? Would be greatiful for any ideas, information and links.
Best regards,
Mindaugas

I was the first American to ever go on the Yenesiy River with a bunch of Polish travelers on a two week cruise downstream from Krasnoyarsk to Dudinka and back in the summer of 1993. I wrote a booklet on the trip and posted it on my web site with photos. You can see it at

I see many of you have had the trip with follow on tours. But I don't believe any of you had the adventure that could compare to mine. Take a look at my website and compare. I see that many of you paid at least $1500 for airfare alone. We paid just $250 each for each of us, my wife and me for the airfare and cruise compined from Gdansk, Poland. And we had one of the two best cabins on the ship. I believe my write up is the best ever, only because we saw things and made stops that none of the other cruises did. Razz Razz
