This web site may be my answer.

Several years ago I set off for Moscow to find a book. Yes, not that having diner with a Moscavika would be bad. But to find the book that makes another book the biggest point in my life. Sure, I was going on short notice and had people in Ukraine doing some translation work for me. But what happened should be know to all in Moscow. This young girl that translates said she would find the book and email some of the things from it. I should have known better when she ask for money down. The book was first published in 1914 and is about Siberia. If you have to see the pins from the Hard Rock Cafe in Moscow, as well as my photos of the HRCafe to believe me, "I was in Moscow" Fine, I am very well capable of returning to Moscow or any part of Russia, only if I can buy this book, when I get there. I used the Moscow Metra 22 times and only 1 Taxi ride. I know how to get around. My Russian is poor, but my understanding is good enough to get from any where to any town.

I also would love to do a boat ride down the Lena River. But only in the lower part of the river. I don't think Siberia was full of animals lost today. I know siberia was greater than Africa or the best the great plans of America could have ever been. Sad the cold had to come with no reguard for life. Here today gone tomorrow is an ugly part of the world.

WOW,

Got the books in English. The travels of a Geoligist in 1909 up to the Artic near the mouth of the Lena is great. But the second book on how many tons of ivory came from the dead mammoths is shocking me big time. 2 tusk one mammoth would be numbers in the thousands. Yes my thinking is becoming a conclusion, that northern Siberia was as full of life as Africa in it's best years. Sad the cold had to arrive just 15,000 years ago. When the North Pole moved from Hudson Bay to present location.
Still would like to see the place where all these wolly mammoths died.
