I'm currently at "Liden and Denz" language school studying Russian and I'd say it's a good school. It's very expensive though (cafeteria, excursions et al). I think there's a smaller language school around Plochad Vostanya, but I don't know the name of that, and the university that, from what I heard offer also good courses for less money. Smile

Some people I know have studied there, and they enjoyed it. The course is about $400 month, and students can start at any time of the year. It is a much more reasonable price than some of the other language schools in the city. It is also official because it is St. Petersburg State University, so the certificate will be more highly respected.

What sort of certificate do you get? Is it worth anything like a degree at an university? Shocked

The language school near Vosstaniya Square mentioned above is Extra Class Language Center, run by ex-Director of studies from L&D, the author of the coursebook they use (like many schools worldwide).
Please find more info at: www.learnrussian.ru
For references, visit the Guestbook page, and if you have already learnt some russian, take the online test - it's free. By the way, tea and coffe for students are free there, too!
