what is the difference between the ÊÓÏÅ and ÊÓÏÅ ÓÝ compartments?
http://rzd.ru says "Ó = the railroad car of the increased comfort (with the additional services)" but i would like to know what this means, is it worth the extra cost (10-20% more)
thanks in advance...

| I'd say, take the best they offer, especially if on a long journey, every bit of good service and comfort counts! |

ÓÝ means included little snack food and sleeping accessories
Ó2Ý means the same but food is better (hot soup, for example).
All compartments in ÓÝ with conditioner - quite comfortable. |

thanks!
i've also wondered about the price. here are some
example prices in September for Moscow - Irkutsk:
train 006Ù, takes 75h 11m
ÊÓÏÅ ÓÝ - 4751 rubles.
train 044Ý, takes 86h 46m
ÊÓÏÅ ÓÝ - 4911 rubles...!
both are regular (not "firmenny") fast trains... do you know why the slower train is more expensive? |

train 006Ù belongs to Mongolian railroad company (Mongholia republic), and train 044Ý belongs to FarEast railroad company (Russia). Different companies, different prices and service
I don't know what is better, but I consider that in train 006Ù there will be many wild mongolian men |

You're right on that one
So, i took the train number 10 from Moscow to Irkutks and a week later I took the train 6 to Ulan Bator. They differ a lot. The firmenny train 10 is much better. The cars were much newer and cleaner. On the mongolian train you couldnt buy tee or coffee from the provodnik, on the russian train there was a wide selection of drinks and beers... And the mongolian men liked to smoke inside the car, by the bathroom, when in the russian trains its prohibited. |

| I must say that I quite liked the Mongolian train, even better than all the Russian ones I took. You even get your sheets for free and some snacks. And by the way, all foreigners were put in one wagon, so away from the `wild Mongolian men` (except then for the one who was smuggled in by our provodnitsa). `The wild Mongolian men` did come in at the border to hide their stuff everywhere in our wagon. That was fun!!! Had a great time!!! |

As a rule you are intitled to some some meals during the trip included in the price which my Dad always chooses as you do not need to worry about the food this way, but the meals can vary from train to train. |
