Hello people,

I'm a Russian citzen and just recently received my American passport. At this point I have two passports (both countries as a matter of fact accept dual citizenship). I was wondering if someone has an experience traveling with two passport. I will need to travel to Russia (Moscow) and Armenia to see my family members most likely in October. My Russian passport is brand new (I received it from SF passport desk) and will need to register it with DKS (departament consul'koy sluzhbi). Of course there is an alternative: get Russian ($150) and Armenian ($30) visas and just fly out with an American passport.
I've traveled before with Russian passport many times but had green card at that time.
So if any one of you have an experience or a suggestion...that will be very nice.

Thanks

Traveling with two passports is by far the easiest and cheapest way to go. In spite of one comment on another thread, I do not think you can legally get a Russian visa for your US passport. My daughter is a dual citizen and has traveled back to Russia with both passports. It is a common occurance. You can show the Russian passport to leave the US and enter Russia and both passports to return to the US. Always have both ready in case of questions about visas etc. but you won't have any problems.
