Hi all,
I am in a wierd situation, please help me out (if you can). I live in NYC and leaving to Moscow on 12/24/2006 coming back 1/3/07. I am an American Citizen, however I was born in Russia and still have a citizenship there. Here's the hard part, when I came over here, I was about 7 years old and did not have my own russian passport. Rather, I was inscribed in to my Mother's passport. Since then her passport has expired and she has obtained a new one. Here is my question:
1. How long will it take me to get my own russian passport? (I do not mind paying the express fee)
2. Correct me if I'm wrong but to enter russia, I have to present the Russian Passport and to leave Russia, I have to present my US Passport.
3. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to post.
Thank You sooo much in advance!

Hi,
1. I think you can usually get it in 3 months, so do it now! You may also use one of the Russian passport services, such as http://www.russianpassportservice.com/
2. Yes, you should just travel with 2 passports, and show the American one when you leave the US (if they ask for a Russian visa, show them the Russian one, otherwise it's not necessary). Then show the Russian one when you get to Russia. And on the way back -- vice versa.
