Cool pics...it really captures old Russia...I see many pics of the Old Believers...I just lent a book out to a friend called, "Old Believers in Modern Russia"....it gives a history about their communities and how they still keep Russian Orthodox traditions as far back as the 17th century. Smile

yes in some ways....My friend that lives in Woodburn, OR grew up as an Old Believer on a small Island off the coast of Maine. Woodburn, Oregon has a large population of Old Believers, however, the young kids are becoming more modern and being a thorn on their parents sides..lol...like most teenagers.. Laughing

I visited this Cemetery in late Spring 2007. They offered guided tours of the grounds and some buildings.

This is all very interesting and I wil definitely be researching them in the nex few days...the Oregon Old Believers is very interesting too. It fascinates me because in today's high tech world it must be so hard to live so isolated.
