I'm thinking about applying to MSU or MGIMO. Economics/business type course...
A few questions have come up.
Anyone here studied in Moscow? How was the experience? Does the "no contest" poilicy apply to MSU and MGIMO?
Any tips for applying would be appreciated.
I'm half russian, coloured. Would that be a problem? You hear stuff on the news, but i also know that everything you hear should be taken with a pinch of salt. I'm going to Moscow no matter what the risks are, but I still want a fair idea about what i'm getting into so i can prepare accordingly, so i'd really like to hear your thoughts on that.
Last time I was there i recall not seeing many football fields etc. What people do on weekends if there is no sport? |

мнээ.. а что такое ноу контест применительно к универам?
А футбол... холодно тут и снегодождь 9 месяцев в году. Еще есть лето, минус месяц отпуска - когда мячик-то гонять? |

You will need to have passed at least level 1, possibly level 2 of the TRKI language tests to start university in Russia.
I doubt you have to take any of the exams that Russians do to enter university. You are paying for the course where as the majority of Russians are competing for free places. |

Don't know anything regarding MGIMO, but as for MSU: ( from yandex cache )
ask yandex : иностранные граждане вступительные мгу
// url removed -too long
I can't figure 'no contest' out of this document - even paid students have to pass entrance exams and ( pass Russian language OR complete a preparation course in ЦМО )
