There are three different vendors currently listed on Way to Russia that you can book through. Some provide better service at higher prices while others are cheaper but not as efficient.

Prices vary by season and the prices for October won't be known for sure until about two months before, but a first class ticket direct from Moscow to Beijing is somewhere around $550. I recommend you send a request for a quote about two months before your intended travel date. Tickets can't be issued until 45 days in advance but you need the extra time to get the quotes and finalise your itinerary.

SV is a good firm and the price is reasonable. They recently provided a similar quote to me for the same route. I will purchase form SV next time around. Yes, the price is higher than what you will pay if you were on the ground in Moscow and could buy yourself, but many good things have been said about SV. You won't have to worry about not getting your tickets or getting ripped off.

Stay away from ConnectRussia.

Thanks a lot for your advice.
Do you by the chance know if the price through this website is accurate? (i mean when you go to train ticket section it gives you 544 for 1st class and takes you to the next step-details), is this price accurate or will it have extra charges and therefore will get up to around 600?
thx

Hi, I am planning to travel from Moscow to Beijing as well and I read that you contacted SV directly by e-mail. So far I have failed to find the e-mail address anywhere so I'd be glad if you can post it here.

I have not yet defined a fix schedule that's why I wanted to ask them to propose a schedule and inform me about the costs.

Thanks for helping out!

Hi Jeanny, use this form to determine prices and then have the WTR tool submit a request for info from SV on your behalf.

one last question! Embarassed When you go though to the prices on that form it shows that some companies charge something like 30% for using debit/credit card, is that right? So you’d have to pay another 200 dollars in card charges?

Credit card charges are usually around 5%. 30% is the mark-up that the vendor charges. Note that the prices listed on Way to Russia are supposed to be the prices you would pay if you bought the tickets yourself at the train station. However, they are a bit outdated and therefore lower than the real prices.
