Hey, Ender send me the name of the Russian chocolate you are talking about in a pm, so that Nikir can nuke another thread.

I have a mountain of empty Russian chocolate boxes. Smile Always like the artwork on them - often prints of famous Russian paintings (eg. important buildings/landmarks and beautiful landscapes).

The local varieties of chocolate in Russia seem astounding! And, then there is the huge amount of imported chocolate too!

Willy Wonker simply can't compete. And, I'm sure the Russian dental industry has never had it so good!

A present from the USA? Why not a big Texan cowboy hat?

My instructor (who is Russian) suggested american chocolate, tho personally I think it'd be an insult to give anyone some nasty paraffin tasting Hershey bar.

[/quote="Ender"] Was it spiteful suggestion? I think majority of Russians believe their chocolate is the best in the world.

My husband definitely things American chocolate is pretty bad. And while he thinks Russian chocolate is fabulous, I'm not that thrilled about it to be honest. The best chocolate I ever ate was in Belgium...hands down.

I agree 100%.

The chocolate made in Switzerland is also damn good.

I was not thinking about the thread here. The poster who drags just about anything off topic is what I had in mind.

I ended up buying Hershy's but maybe I will upgrade to Dove. Personally, I can't stand Russian chocolate but it's a lot better than Ukranian.

Is tea (in this case from Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea) generally a good gift? It's for my Russian teacher...

I think tea would be a good choice- I get unusual tea for my teacher every so often, because she always serves some at our lesson and I feel I should reciprocate (that and she really loves tea).

Smile

My teacher LOVED my tea, and I'm considering buying her some more blends when time permits. Very Happy

She had already invited us to have a cup of samovar-made Russian tea that day (that, I didn't know when buying her the tea a while back), since we had ended our very last lecture with her this semester, so the tea did come in handy. Everyone got to enjoy the taste of Gotland. Wink

Wondering if my little gift will affect the result of my forth-coming grammar exam...
