Hello, could anybody help me?
I'm studying in Finland at the moment and want to visit my girlfriend, who stays in Pskow. My problem is I don't know any russian. Is it possible to get along on the stations or airports for example to change train...?? - Do they maybe speak any english? - Is there anybody who could help me??

I wouldn't rely too much on railway staff being able to speak much if any English while in Russia. Airport staff would be more likely to speak good English.
However, the best advice I can give is to learn the cyrillic alphabet as much of the information you will need will be on signs, and all in Russian. This is not as daunting as it sounds - the Russian alphabet itself can be mastered in a couple of hours, and then it's just a matter of learning a few words you'd expect to see on a sign (eg, exit signs, toilets, ticket offices, names of stations, etc).
Armed with a phrase book and a fair knowledge of the alphabet I don't think there'd be too many problems.... best of luck....

ich vermute mal, du bist Deutscher?
Richtig?
Ich fahre seit Jahren nach Russland, St.Pete und kann leider auch kein russisch, und nur ein schlechtes Englisch.
Spreche junge Leute an, sie koennen sehr haeufig Englisch.
Damit bin ich immer zurandegekommen.

da mutmasst du richtig!
- Mittlerwile habe ich auch diesen Trip schon hinter mir! Und wie man sieht habe ich diesen Trip überlebt!
Allerdings bin ich nicht alleine von St Petersburg nach Pskov, da ich nicht gewusst hätte wie ich an eine Fahrkarte hätte kommen sollen!

I guess you can speak in Finnish at the border, I bet they know more finnish than english. I went the other way in March (St. Petersburg to Helsinki) and didn't have to speak a word of russian. You'll do fine.
