| help ! I`m trying to plan a trans-siberian trip from Japan to Moscow in Feb next year but finding it impossible to get timetable info for flights from Toyama or Niigata at that time of year. I don`t want to buy my train ticket and then find I can`t get to Vladivostok, so can anyone help with the likely frequency, days, times, whatever, from Japan to Vladivostok ? I really wanted to go by boat but I`ve almost given up on that idea........ unless anyone knows ....?????? |

G'day,
February is difficult because of the weather. I did some trawling on your behalf and it seems that Vladivostok Avia don't fly in the winter. I would suggest you e-mail them and ask. www.vladivostokavia.co.kr (they are Korean based). Other than that, get yourself to Korea and while you are at it check Asiana Airlines and Korean Airlines for their flights.

| It is somewhat difficult getting information about boats to Vladivostok originating from Niigata. However, there is another boat that goes from Fushiki (near Toyama, I do believe) and you can find the schedule at http://www.euras.co.jp/en/ship.html. In February, they sail on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of the month at 18:00 arriving at Vladivostok two days later. As for flying, have a look at www.across-travel.com. They have discounted flights to Vladivostok with Korean Air departing from Kansai International Airport three times a week for 90,000 yen return. I hope this helps you. Have a good trip. |
