A century of music in Polenovo Village (June 22 – July 28)
Open air museum offers an extensive programme of classical music which will be happening every weekend for two months. During the concerts guests will have a chance to listen to music which the famous russian painter Vasiliy Polenov used to love. The list of compositions were taken from his archive. Apart from Polenov’s favourites there will be rendezvous programmes where compositions of classical composers will follow contemporary ones. During those days guests will listen to chamber choir of Ekaterinburg seminary, Moscow ensemble of contemporary music and youth Dresden’s ensemble. Organizers of the event also promise a lot of interesting lectures and workshops. During the festival the museum where the painter woked lived will be also open for visitors. After the excursion one can take a peaceful walk following the paths where Polenov was searching for his inspiration.
How to get there: train from Moscow central train station (Tula direction) to Tarusskaya station, there take bus to Lanshino and from the bus stop 1km by foot.
