Promenade

Best way to get the feeling of Irkutsk is to walk on Karl Marx Street, take a river tram and head to loved by locals promenade. Along the embankment there's a street called Gagarinsky Boulevard which is a very calm and green boulevard — a favorite promenade place.

Angara river is the only river, which originates from Baikal lake and there is a legend about it, which every Irkutian knows. Angara was a beautiful daughter of Baikal, which turned into a river and run away from its father to her beloved Enisei (another big Russian river).
