Going Out in Ulan-Ude: Restaurants

The situation with entertainment in Ulan-Ude as we know it is quite bad. Best option is to try out local restaurants. People there are very friendly, food is nice and cheap Buryatian national food is Zraza (pastry with juicy meat inside) and green tea with milk. Also, locals like dried fruits and rice.

 

Modern Nomads Restaurant

This chain restaurant serves authentic Mongolian food and may be a bit pricey, but it’s still quite popular among tourists and locals.

Orda Bar-Restaurant in Ulan-Ude, Siberia

This restaurant / bar / club has a nice authentic interior and serves locally-inspired food.

Zefir Bar in Ulan-Ude, Buryatia

A calm cafe and hookah bar, this is more like a glamorous place where guys like to come to talk about girls and girls like to make selfies.
