how to cross the road !!!

I am going to travel  Vladivostok, Russia.

When I want to cross the road, but there is no crosswalk near, How can I cross the road?
How does the local people do ?

If you didn't see crosswalk you can cross the road everywhere you want. Don't worry about police they are very friendly to english speaking tourists.
