Should dates on invitation match dates of travel?

0 votes
I was able to get an invitation from one of the hotels I will be staying at. However the dates on it are just for the dates of my hotel stay with them. Should I get a new invitation for the entire dates of travel?

If so, will the embassy notice that I intend to visit other cities in Russia (either on the application form or from tickets) and wonder how I will be doing all that while staying in one city. Also why are they so picky about it when they issue multiple entry visas which are valid much beyond the invitation's dates?

Hello there,

As far as I know the dates on the invitation are the dates that will be printed on your visa. You won't be able to go to Russia earlier (before the date) and leave after the date on the invitation.

So if you get a visa with these dates you'll have to change your travel plans a bit.
Hope this helps!
