Mendeleev Table

Author: waytorussia (on 21 Jul 2015)

#mendeleevtable - is a well-known systematized arrangement of chemical elements that is widely used around the world. It was first published by Russian scientist Dmitry Mendeleev in 1871 who said that the final arrangement came to him during sleep. Mendeleev was also an avid vodka drinker and developed the perfect chemical formula for vodka as well. Mendeleev’s example illustrates very well two very strong Russian traits: the desire to systhematize and the will towards perfection.

PS
While Mendeleev surely liked vodka, you can read more about the perfect formula for that wonderful drink in our Russian food section on vodka. You might also want to visit the vodka museum in St. Petersburg.
