Buryatia is the area taking the eastern shore of Baikal lake, the opposite one of Irkutsk and Listvyanka. It's less developed and less touristic, you have much more chances to find secluded bays and quiet spots on the lake here. Besides, Ulan-Ude, the main city of Buryatia is a very hospitable small town. Our favorites below are the 7 Bays area (B3 on the map) and Svyatoy Nos peninsula (C1 on the map).
