Paratunka – the village near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city famous for the hot water springs.
Hot Springs at Mutnovskaya Thermal Geyser Station — more accessible than the Geyser Valley as you don't need a helicopter to get there. The advantage is that it's still a pretty wild place, so unlike New Zealand or Iceland (where you have to walk around in designated areas on the wooden p athways) you can feel yourself right in the middle of the action. Watch out though as it's hot springs after all. |
|
Volcanoes – Avacha, Vilucha, Goreliy, Mutnovsky and many others.
Avacha Bay – the bay of the Bering sea where Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is situated.
Valley of Geisers – the main sight of Kamchatka. Small area in the mountains filled by the geisers. Accessible by the helicopters only.
Khalaktyrsky Black Volcanic Sand Beach — a beautiful beach, which is the main surfing hot spot of Kamchatka. Volcanic rock, wilderness, view on the snow peaks of volcanoes even in summer. There are two great surf camps: Snowwave and Quiksilver Surf School.
